Welcome everybody. How you got here I have no idea but thank you for coming and welcome again, nonetheless . As you may have gathered this is a Fic Prompting Meme dedicated solely to the hilarious and oh-so-addictive BBC Radio 4 sitcom - Cabin Pressure. I'm aiming for this to be pretty anything goes - but in order for everything to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines. Don't worry - they're not too restrictive.

FILLING GUIDELINES

As you probably all know - our meme now has it's very own database created and maintained by the great Enigel. It both catalogues each and every prompt that we post and provides links to fills. You can find it here: Google Spreadsheet

We also have a Pinboard archive which has been put in place by the lovely oxfordtweed in the place of our late Delicious Archive. This Archive contains a list of all the prompts this meme has to offer - you can find it here: Pinboard Archive

This is a great step forward in making our meme just a little more organised (but not too organised of course. This is Cabin Pressure) which is always a good thing.

So in order to make things easier to archive - Please nest your fills.

This can be done by either posting each part as a reply to that part's immediate predecessor, OR by replying each time to Part I OR - well you get the idea :D

It makes it simpler for Enigel and myself to link fills in a clean and clear manner. Following these guildelines will be very much appreciated guys :D

REPROMPTING

Reprompting is allowed but please include the URL of the original prompt when you do so. It will make it infinitely more easy to Archive which would make both Enigel and I very happy :)

As for everything else

1. Be respectful to one another. Disagreements are fine, but not everything disagreeable is trolling. If you suspect someone of trolling, just ignore it. If you cannot respond to a comment without attacking or trolling someone else, keep it to yourself.


2. No bashing prompts. It might not be your cup of tea - but obviously someone wants it enough to go to the effort of requesting it. So just scroll past it.


3. Prompt away as much as you like guys - seriously, go wild - but please try to fill as well.

NEW - If your fill includes a major element that veers from the original prompt (crossovers, established universes, kinks, et cetera), please take a few moments to check with the OP that such additions are welcome. This has caused problems in the past and it only takes a few moments of your time.

4. Please no RPF. I'm not trying to oppress you RPF writers and enthusiasts, I would just really like to avoid any legal problems.


5. When you post a fill (or post a new part of a WIP) please go over to the Filled Prompts Post (if it is complete) or the WIP Post (if there are still more parts to come) and, following each post's guideline's, post a link to this fill or new part.

REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM

According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. So if you're here and you're under 18 please back button now.

+ Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.

You know how in the first Birling Day episode, Douglas goes out of his way to not let Martin know about the tips? Think of some different reasons why he'd do that and write about them.

You know what they say about public math (don't do it), but, according to my calculations:

1 Douglas "sky god" Richardson, circa Air England Captaincy
plus 1 Carolyn Knapp, circa stewardess tours multiplied Douglas's self-renowned ability to seduce "hosties" and divided by Carolyn's ability to see through Douglas's horse hockeypucks equals....shenanigans of some description.

Basically: Carolyn and Douglas, pre-MJN. How'd they get to be friends now?

Martin/ofc phone sex with a twist

Martin's new girlfriend is a bit naughty, so when Martin finds she slipped a Tenga cup in his bag, he calls her up to asks what it is.

She tells him and then asks to listen in while he uses it.

Another Community Crossover

GERTI crashes into Greendale Community College. Martin and Dean Pelton negotiate damages. MJN provides a flying course in return for not having to pay anything. Jeff Winger deems it his ultimate blow-off class for that semester.

Sugar Daddy!

Martin has a sugar daddy! He's like, seriously, rich. Maybe one of their passengers takes a shine to him, I don't know. I just want him to have an extremely rich man madly in love with him to the point where it makes him uncomfortable sometimes, but coming to really love him back. Points for the rest of MJN getting nervous about the relationship too, but then approving.

After Ipswich

Poor Arthur must have felt really bad after the barely mitigated disaster that was Ipswich. He tries to hide it, but he never was that good at lying, especially when it was Douglas asking the questions.

Allergy

Douglas is allergic to some obscure food stuff which, frankly, he'd never thought he needed to mention. His reaction to it is severe but he doesn't think he'll ever encounter it again so why bother bringing it up?

This poses a bit of a problem when Arthur delivers one of his 'specialities' and Douglas samples it.

Shipwright Family

I'd like some fic involving Herc's family. Are his brothers, Wellington and Harrier, pilots as well? Is his sister Sarah jealous that she is the only one not named after a plane? What about his father, a man so eccentric as to name his sons after aircraft (an older Martin if I ever heard one)?

Just anything involving the people Herc grew up with, the ones who shaped him into the sky god he is today.

Inspired by a Sherlock and a CP prompt.

Douglas is a literal Sky God. He is prayed to by millions, even though nobody has ever seen him. Martin one day goes to the Sky God's temple to pray for (your choice).

Carolyn plans to do something really dangerous and really stupid with GERTI a la Qikiqtarjuaq. This time Martin puts his foot down. He's quitting MJN Air if they're going to continue to force him to do such illegal things.

While in flight, Martin gets a call that his brother and sister have both been killed in a car accident. There's nothing Martin can do because he's too far away, and he can't just divert because of their time-sensitive cargo (Organs or something).

Cue Martin trying to keep it together, because he has to.

I've finding myself inexplicably obsessed by the Omegaverse fics over at the Sherlock meme. Do we have any already here? If not I NEED one.
Martin would be perfect as the Omega trying to hide his nature, and could be why no one takes him seriously due to his scent not being quite right, and especially as being a Captain seems such an Alpha profession. So what would happen if he goes into heat when 'Alpha of Alpha's' Douglas is around? Would Douglas snap and take him? Would Arthur be pawing at the cockpit door to get in?

Herc's Father, inspired by above

Inspired by a prompt above which described Herc's father as a man so eccentric as to name his sons after aircraft (an older Martin if I ever heard one) which instantly made me want Martin to meet Herc's father. I think it could actually be rather sweet, or just amusing, or...anything involving Martin meeting a potential father/grandfather figure someone who understands the whole plane obsession.

Cabin Pressure/Fawlty Towers

What would it be like if Carolyn, Martin, Douglas and Arthur ever stayed at Fawlty Towers? Definitely interesting. VERY insteresting. For some reason I can see Arthur and Manuel being friends - although I suppose Arthur will be friends with anyone who'll stand still long enough to exchange more than two words.

Carolyn's a pretty good mother, but sometimes her patience runs out and she just snaps and rants at Arthur about whatever he's just messed up.

I need to see a crying Arthur after one of these incidents being comforted by Martin, or Douglas, or both.

A Martin and Carolyn Adventure

John Finnemore's blog mentions that the original split for "Ottery St. Mary" was supposed to be Douglas and Arthur in the van, and Carolyn and Martin off on their own adventure.

So, since we don't get to see them bounce off of each other that often without Douglas along, give me an adventure with just Carolyn and Martin!

(If you want to make it shippy as well, I'm all for rare-pair love, but gen works fine.)
