Welcome everybody. How you got here I have no idea but thank you for coming and welcome again, nonetheless . As you may have gathered this is a Fic Prompting Meme dedicated solely to the hilarious and oh-so-addictive BBC Radio 4 sitcom - Cabin Pressure. I'm aiming for this to be pretty anything goes - but in order for everything to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines. Don't worry - they're not too restrictive.

FILLING GUIDELINES

As you probably all know - our meme now has it's very own database created and maintained by the great Enigel. It both catalogues each and every prompt that we post and provides links to fills. You can find it here: Google Spreadsheet

We also have a Pinboard archive which has been put in place by the lovely oxfordtweed in the place of our late Delicious Archive. This Archive contains a list of all the prompts this meme has to offer - you can find it here: Pinboard Archive

This is a great step forward in making our meme just a little more organised (but not too organised of course. This is Cabin Pressure) which is always a good thing.

So in order to make things easier to archive - Please nest your fills.

This can be done by either posting each part as a reply to that part's immediate predecessor, OR by replying each time to Part I OR - well you get the idea :D

It makes it simpler for Enigel and myself to link fills in a clean and clear manner. Following these guildelines will be very much appreciated guys :D

REPROMPTING

Reprompting is allowed but please include the URL of the original prompt when you do so. It will make it infinitely more easy to Archive which would make both Enigel and I very happy :)

As for everything else

1. Be respectful to one another. Disagreements are fine, but not everything disagreeable is trolling. If you suspect someone of trolling, just ignore it. If you cannot respond to a comment without attacking or trolling someone else, keep it to yourself.


2. No bashing prompts. It might not be your cup of tea - but obviously someone wants it enough to go to the effort of requesting it. So just scroll past it.


3. Prompt away as much as you like guys - seriously, go wild - but please try to fill as well.

NEW - If your fill includes a major element that veers from the original prompt (crossovers, established universes, kinks, et cetera), please take a few moments to check with the OP that such additions are welcome. This has caused problems in the past and it only takes a few moments of your time.

4. Please no RPF. I'm not trying to oppress you RPF writers and enthusiasts, I would just really like to avoid any legal problems.


5. When you post a fill (or post a new part of a WIP) please go over to the Filled Prompts Post (if it is complete) or the WIP Post (if there are still more parts to come) and, following each post's guideline's, post a link to this fill or new part.

REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM

According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. So if you're here and you're under 18 please back button now.

+ Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.

Is anyone on here a fan of the TV show "My Family"?

How many of you would LOVE if Arthur Shappey and Roger Bailey met up? I know I would.

Because of [insert reasons] Martin's landlady gifts the house's occupants a big cake for everyone to share.
Martin spends all day in his van quietly looking forward to it, even if it's just a tiny little piece... except when he gets home he finds that the students ate it all without him, either because they just didn't think to include him, or else kind of sort of forgot he lives there too.

I'd prefer it if the students were a bit oblivious and didn't really notice that Martin was hurt by the exclusion far more than he was disappointed by the lack of cake.

Bonus MJN offers appropriately eccentric comfort.

Carolyn suddenly begins having unexplained irrational violent fits of rage or crying. Everyone starts treading very lightly around her, not bringing up any problems or concerns, not sure what might set her off.

As it turns out, Carolyn has been having memory lapses, which frighten her terribly. They also sometimes drop her into the middle of the worst bits of her time with Gordon. She's in complete denial and will not seek help or tell anyone.

Idea borrowed from Firefly

The MJN crew fly somewhere where they live by unusual (to us Brits!) laws and customs. Whilst there, Martin and Arthur accidentally get married, by one of them pouring the other a cup of wine or something like that. Even worse, they'll be on standby for anywhere up to a month, so they have to continue living by their laws and customs.

Arthur thinks it's brilliant, Martin does not.

Happy ending, please! And it's up to the author on whether they want to keep that a platonic friendship (I'm a sucker for platonic cuddling) or take it further, and once they leave, whether they remain married or not.

All I ask is that there's no hardcore NC17 sex scenes.

Mr. Birling's Will

Carolyn gets a call from Mr. Birling's horible horible wife. Birling is dead. And MJN air is getting a healthy portion of his money - enough to pay the debts, the mortgages and make business start runing at a steady pace if they are careful and smart enough. Maybe the captain can get a payment after all.

There is only one small thing they have to do to get the money: spend the weekend in Mr. Birling's haunted house. Yes, he had a haunted house built and filled with ghosts (real or not) for the sole purpose to mock their heirs one last time.

The wife did it. The kids did it. The friends did it. Everybody got their share.

Now is MJN's turn.

Point of clarification though, does OP mean Mr. Birling is haunting it, or was it always haunted when Mr. Birling was alive? Either way still seconding, but potential fillers might need to know.

Backstory: I was listening to S2E2 'Gdansk' at work today and suddenly had the brilliant idea of a prompt! Remember Arthur doing the 'Passenger Derby' commentary? Well... we know they like to bet on just about anything and Arthur is a big helper.

Prompt: It's a long cargo flight (probably - but I'm flexible) and the chaps are bored, bored, booored. Somehow or other, the idea of a wank-off between Douglas and Martin comes up (no, srsly, I'm hilarious). They hit a long stretch of straight flight, the bets are made, the auto-pilot engaged, annnnd... THEY'RE OFF!

Fly, my pretties, fly!

I just had a really, really terrible day at my local Comicon. Just about everything went wrong -at least this time I wasn't ditched an hour's drive from home. Out of the twenty or so thousand people there, only one recognized my costume and complimented it.
