Welcome everybody. How you got here I have no idea but thank you for coming and welcome again, nonetheless . As you may have gathered this is a Fic Prompting Meme dedicated solely to the hilarious and oh-so-addictive BBC Radio 4 sitcom - Cabin Pressure. I'm aiming for this to be pretty anything goes - but in order for everything to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines. Don't worry - they're not too restrictive.

FILLING GUIDELINES

As you probably all know - our meme now has it's very own database created and maintained by the great Enigel. It both catalogues each and every prompt that we post and provides links to fills. You can find it here: Google Spreadsheet

We also have a Pinboard archive which has been put in place by the lovely oxfordtweed in the place of our late Delicious Archive. This Archive contains a list of all the prompts this meme has to offer - you can find it here: Pinboard Archive

This is a great step forward in making our meme just a little more organised (but not too organised of course. This is Cabin Pressure) which is always a good thing.

So in order to make things easier to archive - Please nest your fills.

This can be done by either posting each part as a reply to that part's immediate predecessor, OR by replying each time to Part I OR - well you get the idea :D

It makes it simpler for Enigel and myself to link fills in a clean and clear manner. Following these guildelines will be very much appreciated guys :D

REPROMPTING

Reprompting is allowed but please include the URL of the original prompt when you do so. It will make it infinitely more easy to Archive which would make both Enigel and I very happy :)

As for everything else

1. Be respectful to one another. Disagreements are fine, but not everything disagreeable is trolling. If you suspect someone of trolling, just ignore it. If you cannot respond to a comment without attacking or trolling someone else, keep it to yourself.


2. No bashing prompts. It might not be your cup of tea - but obviously someone wants it enough to go to the effort of requesting it. So just scroll past it.


3. Prompt away as much as you like guys - seriously, go wild - but please try to fill as well.

NEW - If your fill includes a major element that veers from the original prompt (crossovers, established universes, kinks, et cetera), please take a few moments to check with the OP that such additions are welcome. This has caused problems in the past and it only takes a few moments of your time.

4. Please no RPF. I'm not trying to oppress you RPF writers and enthusiasts, I would just really like to avoid any legal problems.


5. When you post a fill (or post a new part of a WIP) please go over to the Filled Prompts Post (if it is complete) or the WIP Post (if there are still more parts to come) and, following each post's guideline's, post a link to this fill or new part.

REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM

According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. So if you're here and you're under 18 please back button now.

+ Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.

Carolyn/Herc kinky pwp

I would love to see a fic where Carolyn is secretly fairly kinky. That's not to say that she doesn't enjoy vanilla sex as well, but sometimes a woman just needs something more. Herc is more than happy to oblige.

The only thing I really don't like is BDSM. Otherwise, it's all good. (And pissplay is my secret, all-time favorite kink, but it's by no means a requirement for filling the prompt.) It's up to the writer what Carolyn's into.

I would love to have a story that’s as fandom clichéd as possible, simply because I adore crave need like it so much.

A Martin who was bullied, maybe abused, who is lonely and insecure, touch-starved all the same, and most of all a Martin who is convinced that no one will ever really see him or even want to touch him.

He almost breaks – or he does break.

A Douglas who’s utterly in love and reassuring and attentive and tender and who will make it his life goal to care for Martin and to show him his love.

I know this is the usual but what can I say, I LOVE this. So, so much.

Long fills would be awesome, I’m patient. But any fill would be so very very welcomed!

And as in the picture is seen: Douglas carefully cups Martin’s face, whispering sweet and lovely and meaningful things to him.

Oh please please please.

Also, anything fitting the picture would be incredibly awesome of course!!

Douglas is secretly part of a fandom and his favourite fic meme has suffered something of a downturn in quality recently. When he takes himself to the chatter post to complain, one of the other anons challenges him to write something better.

So he does, a long, well-plotted id fic about an older man in a subordinate position to a younger man, whom he secretly longs for. There's action, comedy, sex, misunderstandings, angst, and then a happy resolution.

bonus points if the other anon isn't Martin and one of the students is in the fandom and persuades Martin to read it.

tl;dr some meta fic about Douglas accidentally writing his life into his fandom and Martin finding out.

One of the reasons Douglas doesn’t like Herc is that when they were younger and worked together, one of Herc’s best mates abused or raped Douglas, maybe more then once and maybe threatening his career. Douglas never told anyone though.

Now being with Martin, Douglas can not be the bottom part but neither can he bring himself to penetrate Martin as he remembers the pain and doesn’t want to inflict this on Martin.

Only after time does he tell Martin what happened back then and only after lovely words from Martin might he be convinced to make love to him while being all super careful and a bit angsty. Martin does much comforting.

For some reason, in a foreign country, Martin, Douglas and Arthur are invited to a feast or an all you can eat buffet, on the house, and everyone stuffs themselves and has a great time, and then they all go back to the room, sleepy and full and end up in a big cuddly pile of dozy napping, curled up together.

Anything from pure gen to slow lazy orgy is okay with me.

I don't know why I want it, I just do.

Deep down, Martin doesn't believe anyone is or ever will be his friend. They're just putting up with him or playing an extended trick and will one day turn around and go "you actually thought we were friends? *lol*" because that's what the very few 'friends' he had growing up did.

What will it take for his MJN friends to convince him that they really are his friends when Martin needs one most?

I'll take anything, but I do have a suggested storyline:
Everyone knows Martin wouldn't have made it into the RAF if a war wasn't on. The other pilots are always shocked when Martin returns from sorties in one piece (Martin is actually a better pilot in combat than in training flights, a fact which is easy to ignore in the heat of combat). But when Martin is reassigned to a squadron that flies two-seaters instead of one-man planes, who is going to fly with the idiot?

Douglas is in trouble with his commanding officer for some misdemeanor. What better punishment for a sky-god than to be stuck with the co-pilot no one wants?

I see Carolyn as a ground radio operator and Arthur as a batman or suchlike.

Coming from a fandom where the ears are paramount (figuratively in this case, 'pointy' is more like it), I've developed such an ear worship kink. Funny enough especially for round ears. Sorry, I'm rambling.

Star Trek crossover

I've been watching a lot of the Star Trek episodes - the original series from the 60s with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy - and a plot bunny has attacked my mind. This is the first time I've watched the episodes and I'm only on the first season so far, so I don't feel comfortable enough with the Star Trek side of the characters. I thought I'd prompt it here in case there are any Trekkies among us who'd like to take it up instead. :)

Basically, I'd like the USS Enterprise to stumble upon a sister ship, the USS Gerti, who is a small cargo/passenger ship mainly used for menial jobs, like shipping medical supplies to planets with Earth colonies, etc. Gerti is an old ship, and has broken down, and just in the nick of time, Scotty is able to save the main crew - Captain Martin Crieff, First Officer Douglas Richardson, Yeoman Arthur Shappey, and Lieutenant Carolyn Knapp-Shappey (I wasn't as sure about Carolyn...I was thinking a communications officer like Uhura? Or if the filler would prefer to leave her out or put her as a Starfleet administrator or something? Again, I am not as sure about all the ranks and whatnot of the series so when filling you can fiddle with that as you please) - and they become passengers until they can get to the nearest planet/station/etc.

During their time aboard the Enterprise, Kirk notices that Martin is struggling with the confidence of being Captain, but sees great potential in him. He invites Martin to his quarters and has a one-on-one chat, to try and boost his self-assurance a bit.

Or even if filler wants to keep Star Trek a show, then Martin sees an episode of the original series for the first time (or at least, for the first time since he was a kid) and starts taking notes on "how to act like a Captain" based off of Kirk's character.

TL;DR One way or another, Captain Kirk pep-talks/guides Martin on being the Captain.

No pairings necessary, but if the filler would like, that's fine too.

Martin becomes very calm for a few days. They take a flight somewhere, nothing flusters him, he seems at peace. When they land back at Fitton, and Martin tries to present Douglas with his Captain's hat, saying he'll be moving on soon, and he wants Douglas to have something to remember him by.

Douglas recognizes the signs and is absolutely not having any of it, which is when everything falls apart.

Marathon sex has its downsides.

I want to see Douglas and Martin after a most excellent night really paying for it the next morning. Muscle aches, kinks in the neck, strained back, whatever. I want it for both of them. It can be domestic and they're just wandering around the house taking things very easy and just going 'ow' a lot, or they can have to go into work and try to hide the aches or play them off as caused by something else entirely. I don't mind, I just want them creaky and achy and sore, sharing their misery, and despite all that NOT REGRETTING IT AT ALL! :)

One of the boys (either Douglas or Martin) has written a book. It's a good book. In fact it's a REALLY good book. In fact it's climbing its way up the charts and generating rave reviews all over the place.

The only slight snag? It's a gay romance novel. A searing, passionate, achingly tragic narrative about a fighter pilot and his forbidden love for his gunner as they battle to get back home after their plane is shot down over occupied France.

And, well... everyone knows guys don't write romance novels, do they? Especially not gay ones, not if they want anyone to believe they're even faintly straight ever again (even if they're sort of maybe a bit not. Especially as he's more than maybe a bit painfully in love with his entirely oblivious co-pilot). So he did the only thing he could think of and sort of... borrowed Carolyn's name. A bit.

OK, a lot.

Alright, he forged her signature on the contract. Which was all FINE until a publicist from the publishing house turns up looking for Carolyn to do a publicity tour...


What happens then? Does the book start making its way around the airfield? And will a certain oblivious pilot read it and recognise himself?

For some reason (a fight with Douglas, or Carolyn, or a paid job offer) Martin leaves MJN Air. It was a tough decision, that brought him a lot of pain, but once he’s done it, he refuses to back down.

Months later, Martin is terribly unhappy, misses his friends a lot, and wishes with all his might he had the guts to come back. He's just not sure the others will take him.

Ghost Pilot

Been having a really hectic and stressful week lately, so instead of angst I've been wanting something more mild.

Been craving for something along the lines of Martin being the permanent resident ghost of GERTI. Maybe Martin died on the plane somehow while flying GERTI with the MJN crew, or maybe he was already there when Carolyn got GERTI ( and so the crew never knows him but names the ghost pilot Martin? ).

And then, possibly that the MJN crew is somewhat aware of his existence, when things twiddle around sometimes, or when things get knocked over, or locked up, or the thermo changing etc. And when the plane flies into a spot of trouble, it is the ghost pilot who manages to right every thing again, flying them back to safety instead of crashing.

Would be nice if Douglas is quite aware of Martin/s ghost lingering around the plane, though.

Martin loves piloting, but to make extra money, he writes the adventures of Marvin, Dougall, Caroline and Art. Who fly a charter plane around the world, save said world, and have hot sex along the way.

Then, a passenger who's an umber fan of the book series, charter's MJN and recognizes Martin as the author of the famous book series (how famous is up to the filler, if it's just internet or a small group of people whatever) and let's the secret out, unknowingly.

Douglas then finds out that the main pairing of the book is marvin/Dougall and Dougall bottoms. ;)
He aim's to fix this because he's a top and how could Martin write him so wrong?

This idea just hit me.

Carolyn wants the word of MJN to get out to the public so they get more business. A tv producer of some sort over hears her complaint to Douglas or Arthur, whatever, and decides that these people are interesting enough to start a reality TV show.

Hilarity ensues.
