Welcome everybody. How you got here I have no idea but thank you for coming and welcome again, nonetheless . As you may have gathered this is a Fic Prompting Meme dedicated solely to the hilarious and oh-so-addictive BBC Radio 4 sitcom - Cabin Pressure. I'm aiming for this to be pretty anything goes - but in order for everything to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines. Don't worry - they're not too restrictive.

FILLING GUIDELINES

As you probably all know - our meme now has it's very own database created and maintained by the great Enigel. It both catalogues each and every prompt that we post and provides links to fills. You can find it here: Google Spreadsheet

We also have a Pinboard archive which has been put in place by the lovely oxfordtweed in the place of our late Delicious Archive. This Archive contains a list of all the prompts this meme has to offer - you can find it here: Pinboard Archive

This is a great step forward in making our meme just a little more organised (but not too organised of course. This is Cabin Pressure) which is always a good thing.

So in order to make things easier to archive - Please nest your fills.

This can be done by either posting each part as a reply to that part's immediate predecessor, OR by replying each time to Part I OR - well you get the idea :D

It makes it simpler for Enigel and myself to link fills in a clean and clear manner. Following these guildelines will be very much appreciated guys :D

REPROMPTING

Reprompting is allowed but please include the URL of the original prompt when you do so. It will make it infinitely more easy to Archive which would make both Enigel and I very happy :)

As for everything else

1. Be respectful to one another. Disagreements are fine, but not everything disagreeable is trolling. If you suspect someone of trolling, just ignore it. If you cannot respond to a comment without attacking or trolling someone else, keep it to yourself.


2. No bashing prompts. It might not be your cup of tea - but obviously someone wants it enough to go to the effort of requesting it. So just scroll past it.


3. Prompt away as much as you like guys - seriously, go wild - but please try to fill as well.

NEW - If your fill includes a major element that veers from the original prompt (crossovers, established universes, kinks, et cetera), please take a few moments to check with the OP that such additions are welcome. This has caused problems in the past and it only takes a few moments of your time.

4. Please no RPF. I'm not trying to oppress you RPF writers and enthusiasts, I would just really like to avoid any legal problems.


5. When you post a fill (or post a new part of a WIP) please go over to the Filled Prompts Post (if it is complete) or the WIP Post (if there are still more parts to come) and, following each post's guideline's, post a link to this fill or new part.

REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM

According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. + Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.

Self-explanatory: 5 times Martin has had a baked potato.

Or substitute it for 5 Times Martin had a rediculous pitiful "splurge" moment. Maybe he goes for a week without re-using his tea-bags. Or he buys himself some minor trinket. Or he buys real cream for his coffee.

Let's have a bit of a comic-tragic fic about Martin's poverty. Because let's face it, the baked potato thing was funny precisely becuase it was so sad.

Carolyn/Herc tw: cancer

while completely and totally not fooling around because that's something only children do, Herc notices a lump in Carolyn's breast.

She knows she needs to go get checked but doesn't want to worry Arthur or Martin (or Douglas) so she swears Herc to secrecy. Herc takes her to all her appointments and keeps her company during tests, etc.

tl;dr Carolyn and Herc grow closer during a cancer scare, they don't tell the boys about it at the start, up to anon how it ends

Do you know what I love about this fandom? I'll tell you what I love about this fandom.

There is a conspiracy of little old ladies in Fitton determined to take care of Martin whether he wants their help or not.

- they have meetings to arrange when each of them is going to hire him
- they have a potluck the night before so the lady in question has a fridge full of leftovers that she 'couldn't possibly eat before they all turned, please, you'd be doing me a favour taking them'
- one of them is the mother of Martin's landlord (Martin's unaware of this) and makes her son give Martin extensions
- another is plotting to introduce Martin to her granddaughter the next time the dear girl visits
- etc
- Carolyn knows about it but knows better than to say anything (you don't mess with little old ladies, they're evil, have lots of experience and no fear of death or jail)

if possible, Martin never finds out about them, but the others do (except maybe Arthur, he'd think it too brilliant to keep secret)

He's a luck charm. All his luck goes to the people around him, and he absorbs all the ambient bad luck in the area which in turn effects everything he does. He isn't aware of it, but one day Douglas makes the connection and that's when it all starts to fall apart.

MJN is hired to ship a mysterious and important cargo to a Weyland-Yutani research station somewhere.

But then Arthur or some throwaway crew member (since it's a space ship I assume it'll need more than four people on it) goes to check up on it and OH MY GOD WHAT IS ON HIS FACE. WHAT. WHAT. WHAT.

Maybe W-Y planned for it to happen, that's why they chose a run down dump of a charter ship nobody cared about to transport it.

The Terminator prompt made me think of this, I'm sorry. THEY'RE BOTH CHILDHOOD MOVIES AND ARE CONNECTED IN MY MIND, OKAY. That and I not so secretly want to see Martin get chestbursted/kissed right in the forehead with that second mouth.

Before she met Gordon, Carolyn used to be extremely poor - even poorer than Martin is now. She got pregnant with a man who left her right after finding out about the baby, and while she didn't want an abortion, she couldn't afford to raise a baby either, so she left her newborn son at the hospital. She thought about her firstborn many times over the years, but there was no way Gordon would consider raising someone else's child, so she didn't make any attempts to find the family that adopted him.

32 years later, a young pilot who bears a striking resemblance to her ex-boyfriend comes looking for a job, and it turns out that he was born on the same day as her son....

Carolyn adopts Martin after St Petersburg (without asking first, of course). It's a very sensible choice - she's not getting any younger and Arthur is not getting any smarter, so it's only logical to get herself a son who will be at least half-competent at managing the company when she's gone. Besides, this way she can keep not paying Martin without feeling bad about it - instead she takes him into her house, feeds him, washes his clothes and generally unleashes all the motherly urges she's been trying to keep inside (deep, deep inside. Very deep inside.) on poor, unsuspecting Martin.

Omega Martin tops Alpha Douglas

Alpha/Omega verse.

Because I've never seen this before.

Martin's a omega and has always been topped by Alpha's who are less than courteous to what he really might want. So he stays clear of relationships from now. He doesn't hide the fact that he's an omega, finding no need to, and doesn't want a relationship, especially not with an Alpha.

However soon, things grow between him and Douglas and they're both a little in love with each other. Martin's now resigned to the idea that he's going to be a normal, submissive Omega like Alphas want him to. Douglas sees this and wants to make Martin happy, and show him that he's not like other Alpha's, and is how a real Alpha should be, caring for the happiness of his Omega.

So the first time they have sex, Douglas let's Martin fuck him.

It's not a done thing, but it happens and Martin's mind is thoroughly blown by how amazingly understanding Douglas really is, rather than the self-centred, egotistical Alpha he thought he was.

Has anyone seen the anime, Ranma 1/2? The main character falls into a cursed spring and is cursed to turn into a woman every time he's doused with cold water (hot water changes him back). There's other characters who are turned into various animals when doused.

Anyway, given Martin's luck, I could just see him falling into a cursed spring. And in Ranma 1/2, the girl Ranma turns into is a short redhead...

In his teenage years, Martin is diagnosed with epilepsy (it's up to the author, how severe; it could be anything from short absence seizures to full-on grand mal).

This means he cannot get his license, pilot's or driver's. What does he do for a career? How does he deal with the fact that he will never fly?

I don't know if this has been prompted before, but it's one of my favorite tropes.

Douglas is a single man now, so that means Internet porn. And maybe he gets bored with the straight porn and checks out a gay site. He's only mildly intrigued until he comes across a video of a very familiar-looking redheaded twink wanking. He's unspeakably turned on, even though he knows Martin was probably only participating in the video because he was desperate for money.

Let's say things took a turn for the worse in St. Petersburg, and gordon made away with the plane. i loved how they teamed up in this episode so much and came together, i'd like to see them deciding to keep working together after MJN. Maybe Carolyn invests the last of her money into Icarus Removals, and Martin, Arthur, and Douglas actually do become Men with a Venn. Herc might invest some too, and together they're one big happy family making deliveries throughout the Greater Fitton Area. It can be slash/het/gen/giant orgy, as long as its fun.

Not the OP. I just found this while browsing the older posts, and want this badly:

Martin is a werewolf. Whether he's kept it hidden or this is the sort of universe where werewolves happen and people accept that is up to you, dear filler.

What I would really like is the sort of rough, mindless sex that comes when one's partner is a werewolf. Growling, scratching, knotting, filthy sex. Dub/non-con are also perfectly acceptable.

I don't know if I should say now...or if any of you will really take my word for it considering my erratic tendencies to make promises on this meme, but I have just over 5000 words done for this fill when it was prompted way back when (and they haven't even had sex yet! :O), that's still unfinished and sitting on my laptop.

I am planning on finishing it though, if you're interested anon. <3
