Welcome everybody. How you got here I have no idea but thank you for coming and welcome again, nonetheless . As you may have gathered this is a Fic Prompting Meme dedicated solely to the hilarious and oh-so-addictive BBC Radio 4 sitcom - Cabin Pressure. I'm aiming for this to be pretty anything goes - but in order for everything to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines. Don't worry - they're not too restrictive.

FILLING GUIDELINES

As you probably all know - our meme now has it's very own database created and maintained by the great Enigel. It both catalogues each and every prompt that we post and provides links to fills. You can find it here: Google Spreadsheet

We also have a Pinboard archive which has been put in place by the lovely

oxfordtweed in the place of our late Delicious Archive. This Archive contains a list of all the prompts this meme has to offer - you can find it here: Pinboard Archive

This is a great step forward in making our meme just a little more organised (but not too organised of course. This is Cabin Pressure) which is always a good thing.

So in order to make things easier to archive - Please nest your fills.

This can be done by either posting each part as a reply to that part's immediate predecessor, OR by replying each time to Part I OR - well you get the idea :D

It makes it simpler for Enigel and myself to link fills in a clean and clear manner. Following these guildelines will be very much appreciated guys :D

REPROMPTING

Reprompting is allowed but please include the URL of the original prompt when you do so. It will make it infinitely more easy to Archive which would make both Enigel and I very happy :)

As for everything else

Be respectful to one another. Disagreements are fine, but not everything disagreeable is trolling. If you suspect someone of trolling, just ignore it. If you cannot respond to a comment without attacking or trolling someone else, keep it to yourself.

No bashing prompts. It might not be your cup of tea - but obviously someone wants it enough to go to the effort of requesting it. So just scroll past it.

Prompt away as much as you like guys - seriously, go wild - but please try to fill as well.

NEW - If your fill includes a major element that veers from the original prompt (crossovers, established universes, kinks, et cetera), please take a few moments to check with the OP that such additions are welcome. This has caused problems in the past and it only takes a few moments of your time.
Please no RPF. I'm not trying to oppress you RPF writers and enthusiasts, I would just really like to avoid any legal problems.

When you post a fill (or post a new part of a WIP) please go over to the Filled Prompts Post (if it is complete) or the WIP Post (if there are still more parts to come) and, following each post's guideline's, post a link to this fill or new part.

REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM

According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. So if you're here and you're under 18 please back button now.

+ Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.

MJN is hired to ship a mysterious and important cargo to a Weyland-Yutani research station somewhere.

But then Arthur or some throwaway crew member (since it's a space ship I assume it'll need more than four people on it) goes to check up on it and OH MY GOD WHAT IS ON HIS FACE. WHAT. WHAT. WHAT.

Maybe W-Y planned for it to happen, that's why they chose a run down dump of a charter ship nobody cared about to transport it.

The Terminator prompt made me think of this, I'm sorry. THEY'RE BOTH CHILDHOOD MOVIES AND ARE CONNECTED IN MY MIND, OKAY. That and I not so secretly want to see Martin get chestbursted/kissed right in the forehead with that second mouth.

Y'know, for most people a childhood movie is 'Dumbo' or 'The Little Mermaid.' For us, it was T2 and Aliens.

Our childhoods ROCK!

My childhood movies: Aliens, The Terminator, Predator, Jurassic Park, Species, Stargate, and The Thing.

Really though pretty much every movie night was Aliens night??? It was mom's favorite movie so we watched it a ton.

And if anyone ever wonders where my nasty kinks came from, here is your answer. Seriously don't show your six year old son Species unless you want him to forever get boners over killer monster women.

The Thiiiiing! Oh man, I didn't think anyone remembered that. The scene where it takes over the dog always freaked me out.

And similarly, don't let your five-year-old son watch IT unless you want him to forever shout, "This is battery acid, you slime!" when he goes after the bugs that get in the house.

OK, not as cool as killer monster women, but it's the best I got. XD

God I can't watch The Thing without getting a boner. THIS IS ME, GETTING A BONER OVER EVERYTHING BODY HORROR. And Kurt Russell.

But that reminds me that I've had this other prompt floating about in my head where Martin is a thing-like monster/alien. I keep meaning to post it but then I'm like IT'S SO WEIRD THOUGH, though now that I've talked about it right here on the meme I might as well post it.

Also IT scared the fuck out of me the first time I watched it. The surreal sort of unsettled scared, the kind that comes more from atmosphere... thankfully I can't remember much of it now haha.

I tried to do a class book report on IT when I was, like, ten. THAT WENT OVER WITH MY TEACHER AMAZINGLY WELL. NOT.

Yeah, my parents had no concept of appropriate viewing material for us. I remember being a kid and watching Brain Dead (Dead Alive) with my siblings, laughing at the horrible zombie sex that was happening. And now, twenty years later, I avoid most horror movies like the plague. Not because they scare me, but because nothing can possibly stand up to the abject terror you feel when you're a kid, and watching the sort of horrifying movies that came out of the 80s.

Honestly I don't get scared that bad by movies anymore. I still jump at the jump scares but they don't leave a lasting sense of fear after the movie is over

I do get super unsettled by some movies though, and it's usually older ones that have that effect. Something about the way older movies were shot, I don't know, the atmosphere is just so different than all the nice and clean and sharp newer movies.

I guess basically I'm saying that when it comes to actual horror and things that make me feel more than just "lmao look at everyone scream and die horrible deaths, what excellent fap material", I prefer more surreal and atmospheric movies? Like... Eraserhead, jesus christ

If you can find it, I strong recommend the St Francisville Experiment. It was one of those Handicam movies from when Blair Witch made it a Thing, but infinitely better than Blair Witch. It's the most recent movie (ha!) that's honestly put the frighteners up me.

Which, that's another excellent one, just for the WTF value. The Frighteners. Peter Jackson's horror movies were some of the best. And by best, I mean hideously camp.

Also, I've got like, a billionty WIPs going right now, but I might just have to use this as an excuse to rewatch the Alien series this week.

And so seconding Martin getting chestbursted. Even if it's in the fashion of Spaceballs and complete crack, I need this like burning.

Yes do it they are the best movies. Somehow I even like Alien 3, Resurrection, and the two AvP movies... They're not good by any means but I still love them okay. Even though I'm still pissed all these years later that they went and killed off Newt and Hicks.

I just enjoy the thought of Martin convulsing on the ground as something tears its way out of him hahaha. HE YELLS SO GOOD I JUST HAVE TO HURT HIM??? I apologize deeply to all my favorite characters for all the awful shit my brain puts you through.

Or Alien³ as it was inexplicably labelled.

And seriously. Why pull at our hearts with Newt just to kill her like that? FFFFFF what's the point?

I saw the first AvP. I think I even have it somewhere. Never got round to the second.
