Good evening ladies and gentlemen (and good day to you too, inhabitants of the other side of the world). As always - this isn't a captain speaking but I come bearing news nonetheless.

It has been brought to my attention today(/night) by our good friend OxfordTweed, that a Chatter Post might work quite well for our fandom.

I'm inclined to agree with him.

As such, here you have a brand-spanking-new post to chatter, Brit-pick, ask questions, debate, gossip, gush and generally indulge in any fannish activity that does not fall under the category of posting or filling prompts. I hope you all enjoy it

The usual guidelines apply, but mostly:

- Please be respectful to one another.

- Don't bash other (non)anon's comments/questions/ideas/etc.

- Have fun

Now go forth, chat amongst yourselves and enjoy. I am of course on stand, so if any problems arise, feel free to drop me a line.

And if you stumble across any plot bunnies here, please just drop them off home at the Prompt-Post, the rest of the herd will be overjoyed to meet them.

REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM

According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

Any Aussies here? Just wondering if there are any, and if so how you first found this piece of awesomeness that is Cabin Pressure?

I'm only here because I followed Benidict from Sherlock... =)

And I'll admit, I first came aware of Cabin Pressure through a Sherlock Xover and its being mentioned quite a lot in prompts over on the Sherlock meme.

Then I looked it up and noticed Roger Allam was a part of it also, as well as Stephanie Cole (I'm quite the fan of Doc Martin as well) - so really I couldn't not look into it.

Though and be hold I fell in love with it (and John Finnemore, who has now joined the rest of the cast as my favored few and developed an equal level of pulling power over this anon) and here I am :)

That's about the same way I found this, though I didn't care who else was in it. Mainly because I've never heard of them before this...

How did you get into this fandom?

I blame Benedict Cumberbatch. *points finger at BC* I was looking around on some of the Sherlock forums and somebody mentioned the series, so I followed it to the comm here. Fell in love instantly with ALL of the characters.

I'll blame him as well. That's pretty much how I got here.

Yes, well I'm yet to meet someone who actually likes that. I've only been to Brisbane once but it was very nice from what I saw. =)

I went to Brisbane once. It was very nice, though I was stalking Hugh Jackman on tour at the time, which was even nicer.
Oddly enough to say, it was actually a lot like Leicester, but cleaner and with more people in hats.

I found Cabin Pressure from Benedict and Sherlock, like you. :) I'm trying to get my friends into it!

=D I have managed to get my brother into it. We spent an hour today playing the evil name game with people we knew. I won. =D

haha, congrats on winning! I would love to play, but I am sure I would lose, I'm completely rubbish at those sorts of games. :)

It's funny, I always imagine there aren't any people from Sherlock or Cabin pressure fandom anywhere near where I live, but Sydney really isn't very far. And I actually recently met a girl at a birthday party recently who was quite into Sherlock fandom, which was surprising. Even more surprising because she's actually the little sister of a guy I know from college. Australia can be small sometimes!

I had the patrol log. Full of names, many of them evil. =D

No it isn't.. I remember even going on a day trip to Canberra once!

Australia can be tiny. I can't go anywhere without meeting someone I, or my Dad knows. Even on overseas holidays (on ships that depart from Australia but still!)!

Sydneyite, and while I'd seen CP mentioned quite a few times on Sherlock and Cumberbatch comms it was Finnemore's writing for David Mitchell's Soapbox that finally convinced me to check it out.

Melburnian, and like most of us I encountered CP via Sherlock fandom, mostly on Tumblr. Mind you, after the first eppie I was hooked, His Cumberbatchness notwithstanding.

It certainly livens up commutes, though I'm not sure what the other drivers think of the sudden shrieks of laughter. :)
