Prompting Post V
Please see the most recent MOD NOTE and ADDENDUM
(updated 5 July)
Welcome everybody. How you got here I have no idea but thank you for coming and welcome again, nonetheless . As you may have gathered this is a Fic Prompting Meme dedicated solely to the hilarious and oh-so-addictive BBC Radio 4 sitcom - Cabin Pressure. I'm aiming for this to be pretty anything goes - but in order for everything to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines. Don't worry - they're not too restrictive.
FILLING GUIDELINES
As you probably all know - our meme now has it's very own database created and maintained by the great Enigel. It both catalogues each and every prompt that we post and provides links to fills. You can find it here: Google Spreadsheet
We also have a Pinboard archive which has been put in place by the lovely
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
This is a great step forward in making our meme just a little more organised (but not too organised of course. This is Cabin Pressure) which is always a good thing.
So in order to make things easier to archive - Please nest your fills.
This can be done by either posting each part as a reply to that part's immediate predecessor, OR by replying each time to Part I OR - well you get the idea :D
It makes it simpler for Enigel and myself to link fills in a clean and clear manner. Following these guildelines will be very much appreciated guys :D
REPROMPTING
Reprompting is allowed but please include the URL of the original prompt when you do so. It will make it infinitely more easy to Archive which would make both Enigel and I very happy :)
As for everything else
- Be respectful to one another. Disagreements are fine, but not everything disagreeable is trolling. If you suspect someone of trolling, just ignore it. If you cannot respond to a comment without attacking or trolling someone else, keep it to yourself.
- No bashing prompts. It might not be your cup of tea - but obviously someone wants it enough to go to the effort of requesting it. So just scroll past it.
- Prompt away as much as you like guys - seriously, go wild - but please try to fill as well.
- Please no RPF. I'm not trying to oppress you RPF writers and enthusiasts, I would just really like to avoid any legal problems.
- When you post a fill (or post a new part of a WIP) please go over to the Filled Prompts Post (if it is complete) or the WIP Post (if there are still more parts to come) and, following each post's guideline's, post a link to this fill or new part.
NEW - If your fill includes a major element that veers from the original prompt (crossovers, established universes, kinks, et cetera), please take a few moments to check with the OP that such additions are welcome. This has caused problems in the past and it only takes a few moments of your time.
REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM
According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. So if you're here and you're under 18 please back button now.
+ Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.
It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.
Other than that - go crazy guys. Any problems please just message me and I'll try my best to work it out.

Martin was not unlike his brother Sherlock; both genius’, both stuck in their own little worlds, both with good friends to take care of them, but at times, stupid. Mycroft knew that he couldn’t spy and take care of things for his younger siblings all of their lives, at some point they had to start making decisions of their own. As much as he would love to make them see reason, both Martin and Sherlock were hard minded and did what they wanted.
They both succeeded marvelously, despite the set back’s here and there, which had brought him and Sherlock to 669 Walnut Grove where Martin had took lodging’s in the attic flat. It was small, with a single bed, a small kitchenette, and a desk where a laptop sat. The flat was dusty though Martin made sure to take care of the normal chores. Martin was away for much of the time flying for MJN Air. A good little charter that saw some government business, though they didn’t know it, and finally Carolyn had been convinced – because of the wealth she made – to pay Martin a Captain’s salary only seen in the commercial traveling industry.
Mycroft didn’t particularly care that Martin stayed in the small flat. As long as his brother was safe, warm, clothed and fed, it didn’t much matter. Martin, however, wasn’t in the mood for their company. Sherlock didn’t mind, he sat on the bed and hugged Martin to his side and Mycroft sat in the chair from the desk. His umbrella and their coats had been hung up on the wall hooks by the door.
“I know your friends at MJN have tried to talk some sense into you,” Mycroft sighed, finally breaking the silence and braving the glare Sherlock sent him from across the small room.
“But, Sherlock even knows this is bad,” Mycroft pointed out.
The Holmes brother’s had been close once upon a time, and Sherlock had a boyfriend who had hit him a dozen or so times in their one year relationship. Martin and Mycroft had to gain up on him as well. Martin couldn’t feign love for this man any longer.
Martin sighed; “he was really wonderful when we first started out,”
“Aren’t they always?” Sherlock muttered.
“And he didn’t hit him, until last week,” Martin guiltily looked to the floor.
“And why did you tell Douglas?” Mycroft asked.
“I didn’t, he guessed,” Martin shrugged. Sherlock ran his finger’s through Martin’s ginger hair and stayed quiet. Mycroft watched the younger two quietly. Sometimes it was best to just let Martin think for a moment before trying to get him to talk it through.
“He was so mad,” Martin sighed, “I didn’t actually do anything wrong, I mean, I know I’m not the best at relationship’s and all, but I at least know it’s silly to get mad over burnt fish!” he rolled his eyes.
“You tried to cook for him?” Sherlock asked, his dark eyes bright with humor. Martin turned to Sherlock and poked him in the ribs, “well, at least I try!” he humphed.
Sherlock nodded. Out of the three of them, Martin was a considerate partner.
“So he hit me, and then he was sorry and we had sex and he promised never to hit me again,” Martin groaned and brought his hands up to his face. “Stupid, stupid Martin!” he berated himself. Sherlock’s arms tightened in understanding around Martin’s shoulders; “of curse he will, isn’t that how it always goes?” he looked up and this time glanced at Mycroft.
He nodded; “We know the Psychology, this is why you and Sherlock did not meet last week for tea at Baker Street as is normal for the both of you,” Mycroft shrugged, “he’s trying to keep you from your friends and family,”
“Classic,” Sherlock agreed.
“So…I have to break up with him?” Martin asked but he knew he had to or things were going to get even worse.
“I would prefer to make him disappear,” Mycroft snorted his derision for the man who dared to call himself Martin’s boyfriend.
Martin didn’t say anything for a long time, obviously tempted to take his older brother up on the offer. Sherlock didn’t say anything either way, preferring for Martin to make his own choices, but would support him no matter what.
“No, he is family to someone,” Martin sighed, “I’ll break up with him, tonight,” he nodded as decision was made.
“Allow us to accompany you, just in case he tries anything,” Sherlock demanded. Martin smiled and patted his older brother’s hand softly and nodded. Sometimes it was all right to have the tow of them sneaking about, mostly it was annoying, but such was the life of the Youngest Holmes brother.
