Martin's new employer hired him because he wanted someone who goes by the book. When he finds out about some of Martin's escapades (Mr Leeman, getting detained at the airport in Boston on charges of threatening to crash an aircraft, driving an airplane down Tunisian highway, the bear-strafing incident, the candy bombing of Douglas's ex wife's house, and masterminding a trip to "Timbuktu"), he has immediate second thoughts about his decision to hire Martin.
