A long time ago, Douglas found out that Martin has an inexplicable hate towards certain words, flinching or sulking whenever they were mentioned in passing. Douglas, of course, uses it as teasing material, because who else would react so violently to words like 'tight' and 'suck' or the sound of a zipper?
Until, years later, Douglas finds out somehow (maybe Martin has had a Really Really Really Bad Day and explodes and rants; or someone accidentally tells Douglas) that Martin used to sell his body to keep himself from starvation, hence his violent reaction to those words.
Cue Douglas being extremely guilty and comforty. Bonus points and ALL THE CHEESE TRAYS if you throw in flashback prostitute!Martin angst scenes.
