Arthur needs reassurance

Okay, really sorry, but another carthartic prompt from Cartharsis.com. I'm really sorry if this upsets anyone, but I need to get this out of my system.

Arthur - well, could be any of them, but this would work best with Arthur - thinks the world is brilliant, and a fun place to be. Then he finds out something terrible - something about his dad, maybe, or something about his mother and Aunt Ruth's falling-out, something to do with a friend on the airfield, something horrible that's happened locally - anything, it's up to the filler. Although it doesn't directly affect him, it shakes him and knocks him for six, as he's left questioning everything about the world. It's made all the worse when someone who doesn't understand - perhaps his father or his Aunt Ruth or someone else - tells him he "has to be a grown-up about it." He's devastated and starts to grow frightened that he's going to turn out to be a horrible person, because if the world really isn't as brilliant as he thought - then what's the point?

Martin and Douglas comfort him and show him the world's not all bad and that it's brilliant people like Arthur who make life worth living. Bonus, if they somehow manage to fit dancing out on the airfield late at night with a radio. (I'd like to go and dance about outside to take my mind off things, but it's raining).
