This meme sure does love to whump on Martin, and having Douglas swoop in to save the day is always a joy, but I'd like to see it play out the other way around.

Douglas's luck runs out. Maybe he gets really properly ill, or crashes the Lexus, or one of his smuggling deals comes back to haunt him or, perhaps, he just gets trampled by cows... Which leaves Martin in the position of needing to swoop in and fix things.

Naturally he's rubbish at it. But at least he really tries, and Douglas is probably more touched than he'd like to let on.
