Diego came out of his hut when he heard the horse and Martin was barely off his stead when the game keeper dragged him inside.
Their mouths were joined as Diego backed him to the bed, words not necessary as clothes were shed and discarded on the wooden floor.
After almost two days and on limited time, Martin was glad Diego had no interest in conversation and was more than encouraging when Diego decided to take him roughly in the fur.
Martin's mistake came when he curled to Diego's side, letting his head rest on his lovers shoulder to regain his breath after a hard, blinding climax. Or rather, the actual mistake came by letting himself close his eyes in the warmth of his lover's embrace.
Neither man, in their slumber, heard the second horse, but both awoke abruptly as the door swung open.
Both men froze in terror as the figure stepped into the lamp light.
"Your uncle has arrived, Sir," Richardson said, his face serious. His glance moved quickly to Diego and then back to Martin as they lay naked in each others arms. "Your man is out searching for you. He went towards to the west of the house, I suggest you intercept him on your horse while I return to the house."
With that, the man left abruptly, the door swinging shut behind him. The young lord and his lover only gaining sense enough to move once they heard Richardson's horse ride away.
"Oh, God!" Diego said covering his face. "He won't tell anyone, don't you think?"
Martin jumped up and scrambled into his clothes. "I don't- I don't know."
"What would happen?" Diego said, distraught, as Martin sat back on the bed and pulled on his boots quickly.
He turned and pressed a hand to Diego's cheek. "I won't let anything happen to you. I promise."
With that, Martin pressed a kiss to Diego's lips and left the hut just minutes after Richardson.
He found Arthur wondering around in the woods calling his name, just where Richardson said he would be.
"Martin!" Arthur exclaimed as soon as he saw him. "Where have you been? Your uncle has arrived and Charlotte is fretting!"
"I know," he said stretching out a hand for Arthur to climb onto the back of his horse. "Richardson discovered us."
"When you say 'discovered'?" Arthur asked.
"In his bed," Martin clarified with a worried look to his friend.
"Dear god," Arthur exclaimed as Martin set off towards the house.
