The men of the airfield finally corner Douglas one evening at the bar to ask if the rumors are true. Is he really shagging that prissy, uptight captain of his? Even weirder, are they actually together?

This could go three ways in my head. Either a) he is doin nothing of the sort but it sounds good now; b) he is furious at the tone they're taking about his new lover; or c) he tries to save some face in front of the guys and accidentally sounds horribly insensitive, which Martin overhears (and let's face it, this seems most likely).
