Welcome everybody. How you got here I have no idea but thank you for coming and welcome again, nonetheless . As you may have gathered this is a Fic Prompting Meme dedicated solely to the hilarious and oh-so-addictive BBC Radio 4 sitcom - Cabin Pressure. I'm aiming for this to be pretty anything goes - but in order for everything to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines. Don't worry - they're not too restrictive.


FILLING GUIDELINES



As you probably all know - our meme now has it's very own database created and maintained by the great Enigel. It both catalogues each and every prompt that we post and provides links to fills. You can find it here: Google Spreadsheet

We also have a Pinboard archive which has been put in place by the lovely [personal profile] oxfordtweed in the place of our late Delicious Archive. This Archive contains a list of all the prompts this meme has to offer - you can find it here: Pinboard Archive

This is a great step forward in making our meme just a little more organised (but not too organised of course. This is Cabin Pressure) which is always a good thing.

So in order to make things easier to archive - Please nest your fills.

This can be done by either posting each part as a reply to that part's immediate predecessor, OR by replying each time to Part I OR - well you get the idea :D

It makes it simpler for Enigel and myself to link fills in a clean and clear manner. Following these guildelines will be very much appreciated guys :D

REPROMPTING



Reprompting is allowed but please include the URL of the original prompt when you do so. It will make it infinitely more easy to Archive which would make both Enigel and I very happy :)

As for everything else



  1. Be respectful to one another. Disagreements are fine, but not everything disagreeable is trolling. If you suspect someone of trolling, just ignore it. If you cannot respond to a comment without attacking or trolling someone else, keep it to yourself.

  2. No bashing prompts. It might not be your cup of tea - but obviously someone wants it enough to go to the effort of requesting it. So just scroll past it.

  3. Prompt away as much as you like guys - seriously, go wild - but please try to fill as well.

    4. NEW - If your fill includes a major element that veers from the original prompt (crossovers, established universes, kinks, et cetera), please take a few moments to check with the OP that such additions are welcome. This has caused problems in the past and it only takes a few moments of your time.
  4. Please no RPF. I'm not trying to oppress you RPF writers and enthusiasts, I would just really like to avoid any legal problems.

  5. When you post a fill (or post a new part of a WIP) please go over to the Filled Prompts Post (if it is complete) or the WIP Post (if there are still more parts to come) and, following each post's guideline's, post a link to this fill or new part.


REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM



According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. So if you're here and you're under 18 please back button now.

+ Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.

Other than that - go crazy guys. Any problems please just message me and I'll try my best to work it out.

It actually kind of broke my heart to write this, but here we go :

Martin was sitting against a wall. That was the first thing he noticed, the first thought that went through his mind. His first thought? He frowned. He hadn't been sleeping, so why did he feel like he just regained consciousness? His head was so fuzzy. So was his vision…

He realized suddenly he was starring at his feet, and underneath them… that was definitely the pavement. He was outside. He raised his eyes slowly. He knew this part of town.

It was dark. Where was his watch? His not-so-genuine Pateck Phillip? His wrist was bare. His torso too. He wasn't wearing a shirt. Only trousers.
Martin blinked rapidly. His head was wrapped in a fog so dense his thoughts were lost before he could understand them. There was something wrong, with him or with the world around him, he wasn't sure. Something really wrong. Slowly, he put his hands on the ground and got his feet under him.

Pain shot through him so fast and so hard he fell back down and rolled into a little ball, a whimper escaping through his clenched teeth. Pain, pain, pain, so intense he couldn't tell where it was coming from, his muscles were being torn apart, his head was buzzing, his heart was bursting, oh god so much pain…

It seemed like years before his senses came back and he could risk opening his eyes once again. The fog in his head was denser than before.

But a sudden, alarming light went up in his mind, and for a moment he forgot how to breathe. He curled tighter on the cold ground. He was shaking. Was it the cold? Probably not, he realized with disturbing calm. Shock, or something. What should he do? Maybe he ought to cry, now. That was what people did in those situations, didn't they? His unblinking eyes were so dry they stung.

Douglas was used to being woken up in the middle of the night. He was a dad and a pilot, after all.

But if he was okay with having had to watch his daughter during the night when she was little, or with having to get up at dawn because he had an early flight, he wasn't okay with someone banging on his front door as if they wanted to blow it off its hinges.

Sleepy and incredibly irritated, he got up and grabbed his dressing gown.

"I'm coming!" he shouted, loud enough to be heard across the hall. "Bloody hell, whoever you are, I do have a bell! Use it instead of breaking down the door!"

To his surprise, the banging immediately stopped and was replaced by a constant ringing of the bell. That wasn't much better.

He opened the door roughly, ready to yell all sorts of abuse at the intruder… and was frozen on the spot by the sight of his captain, clad in nothing more than jeans, wide-eyed and shivering in the warmth of this spring night, his finger pushing on the bell's little button.

"Martin?!"

"No," Martin answered immediately. "Wait, I-yes. I, I'm me. It's me. Martin."

"…Yes, I deduced as much. I was merely asking to empathize my surprise, Martin. I recognized you. Although it is quite a difficult thing to do right now… Are you all right? You know you can stop ringing the bell now I'm here."

Martin immediately retracted his arm and let it hang limply by the side of his body. He was disheveled and filthy, some scratches covered his bare torso, feet and arms. His gaze wasn't on Douglas but somewhere on the wall beside him. His voice was even more high-pitched than usual, but his tone was flat and he was slurring slightly, as if he couldn't work out exactly how to pronounce the words. And his body wasn't shaking ; no, it was more going through its own personal earthquake.

Douglas winced inwardly as something in his stomach did a sommersault. If he wasn't mistaken, and he hardly ever was, those were either clear signs of shock, or clear signs of drunkenness.

He took a step to the right, letting enough space for Martin to enter the house.

"Do you want to come in?"

"I'm… I'm… I'm… I don't have my ph-phone." answered Martin.

"Right. I'm sorry if you didn't notice but you don't have much on you right now. Hence my invitation for you to come inside the house and get warm. And help yourself to my phone."

Martin gently blinked his too wide-opened eyes. Then slowly, very slowly, he turned his gaze to Douglas.

"I think…" he began, and then his legs gave out from under him.
