Chatter Post II

Please see the most recent MOD NOTE and ADDENDUM

(updated 5 July)

New chat post, same rules. Brit-pick, ask questions, debate, gossip, gush and generally indulge in any fannish activity that does not fall under the category of posting or filling prompts. I hope you all enjoy it

The usual guidelines apply, but mostly:

-  Please be respectful to one another.

-  Don't bash other (non)anon's comments/questions/ideas/etc.

-  Have fun

Now go forth, chat amongst yourselves and enjoy. I am of course on stand, so if any problems arise, feel free to drop me a line.

And if you stumble across any plot bunnies here, please just drop them off home at the Prompt-Post, the rest of the herd will be overjoyed to meet them.

Or as they say in Limerick

It's been brought to my attention we are needing
A place for discussion, not reading
I hope this post will do
I'll leave the rest to you
And Beware of the plot bunnies breeding

Sorry if the poem is rubbish - I literally haven't written one since grade five.

According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. So if you're here and you're under 18 please back button now.

Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.

Other than that - go crazy guys. Any problems please just message me and I'll try my best to work it out.

Warhorses of Letters

(Anonymous) 2012-11-30 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
The second series of this beautiful love story between Napoleon and Wellington's horses (as told through the letters they wrote to each other and many, many horse puns) started a couple of days ago. Here's a link:

It's probably the most absurd thing on Radio 4 right now. Which is an amazing feat when you consider that the news series of Bleak Expectations is also currently airing.

It's possibly notable to Cabin Pressure fans because in the live tryouts John Finnemore played Copenhagen to Robbie Hudson*'s Marengo. (Stephen Fry and Daniel Rigby star in the radio version.)

*Possibly notable for being co-writer of the this series, being the former *sniff* flatmate to frequent Finnemore collaborator David Mitchell and being the author of The Kilburn Social Club, a novel about football that's quite enjoyable even for people who don't care about football. He also won a prize for co-writing a musical comedy called Sherlock Holmes (The Early Years) which I unfortunately cannot find any other information about an am therefore forced to imagine as a singing and dancing version of Sherlock the TV series.

Thank you for the rec, if I had a bit more time to spare I'd definitely check it out. :)

Bwwhaa, this is priceless!
Thank you so much for the heads-up.
Kiss, kiss hoof print!!!!
Shmuttercup!! (sorry, no idea about the spelling)
I think I snorted, or snickered, or both.
This is adorable. Do you have by any chance an idea how to listen to the first series?

It's on iTunes and Audible. And there's also a book version out from Unbound (In which Mr. Finnemore is listed as a contributor. (So am I, but I'm not telling who I am.)) Other than than, I'm not sure.

I hope you find something that works. Although, be warned, you may find yourself using the phrase "Oh my horsey god!" a lot.

Thank you! I'll look for it at iTunes then.

I think the Kiss kiss hoof print is already burnt into my mind, so the way for Oh my horsey god! is paved :)

And well done you with the book! I might have a look for this one too.

Excellent! Thanks for the heads up. I do think Wellington is right about the potential stalker, though. Marengo needs to look out!

Katya: your anonymous conemmt was put into the spam folder, but I extracted it from there, so it's back. At least it's still working, though, which I guess is an improvement on LJ.That's a good way to put it! :)
