Welcome everybody. How you got here I have no idea but thank you for coming and welcome again, nonetheless . As you may have gathered this is a Fic Prompting Meme dedicated solely to the hilarious and oh-so-addictive BBC Radio 4 sitcom - Cabin Pressure. I'm aiming for this to be pretty anything goes - but in order for everything to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines. Don't worry - they're not too restrictive.


FILLING GUIDELINES



As you probably all know - our meme now has it's very own database created and maintained by the great Enigel. It both catalogues each and every prompt that we post and provides links to fills. You can find it here: Google Spreadsheet

We also have a Pinboard archive which has been put in place by the lovely [personal profile] oxfordtweed in the place of our late Delicious Archive. This Archive contains a list of all the prompts this meme has to offer - you can find it here: Pinboard Archive

This is a great step forward in making our meme just a little more organised (but not too organised of course. This is Cabin Pressure) which is always a good thing.

So in order to make things easier to archive - Please nest your fills.

This can be done by either posting each part as a reply to that part's immediate predecessor, OR by replying each time to Part I OR - well you get the idea :D

It makes it simpler for Enigel and myself to link fills in a clean and clear manner. Following these guildelines will be very much appreciated guys :D

REPROMPTING



Reprompting is allowed but please include the URL of the original prompt when you do so. It will make it infinitely more easy to Archive which would make both Enigel and I very happy :)

As for everything else



  1. Be respectful to one another. Disagreements are fine, but not everything disagreeable is trolling. If you suspect someone of trolling, just ignore it. If you cannot respond to a comment without attacking or trolling someone else, keep it to yourself.

  2. No bashing prompts. It might not be your cup of tea - but obviously someone wants it enough to go to the effort of requesting it. So just scroll past it.

  3. Prompt away as much as you like guys - seriously, go wild - but please try to fill as well.

    4. NEW - If your fill includes a major element that veers from the original prompt (crossovers, established universes, kinks, et cetera), please take a few moments to check with the OP that such additions are welcome. This has caused problems in the past and it only takes a few moments of your time.
  4. Please no RPF. I'm not trying to oppress you RPF writers and enthusiasts, I would just really like to avoid any legal problems.

  5. When you post a fill (or post a new part of a WIP) please go over to the Filled Prompts Post (if it is complete) or the WIP Post (if there are still more parts to come) and, following each post's guideline's, post a link to this fill or new part.


REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM



According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. So if you're here and you're under 18 please back button now.

+ Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.

Because I'm a sucker for these kind of fics, Douglas has met each member of MJN before they were members of MJN. And Herc, because I'd like to see Herc in there too and we know that they know each other from way back when.

How did the meetings go? Do any of them remember?

The only thing I'd love to see is one of these pre-MJN meetings be whilst he's a medical student in a hospital, but the rest are up to the Author!

Obviously, we all see Martin as this adorably bumbling, awkward person. But there has to be something he just does with absolute grace. Something unexpected, like dancing or playing the violin, but something he does beautifully because he just lets go and doesn't fret over anything for once. And as this is Martin, he gets caught doing his hobby (which he never told anyone about because it was just for himself?) by someone in MJN (who finds it sexy?).

Witch trials are in full swing and everybody left and right are being accused. Douglas is the best witch hunter out there.

Gordon accuses Carolyn of being a witch, and in turn, Arthur is accused as well. They both decide to run and hire good friend, Martin to help them.

But do they have any chance of outwitting Douglas?

Douglas and Martin are starting a relationship.
Both are very insecure about their own bodies (yes, Douglas, too, with age finally catching up and whatnot) but they think each other perfect.
So, I’d love a scene where they’re in bed, worshipping each other’s bodies by touch but also - most importantly - vocally.

The new engineer at the Fitton airfield is a woman, with a motorcycle, tattoos, all the classic 'bad girl' accoutrements, and she has a marked fancy for a certain ginger pilot.

When they land in a country with few red haired people and a poor healthcare infrastructure, through sheer bad luck, Martin is drugged with a drug that causes extreme suicidal impulses and depression.

Arthur and Douglas have no idea it's a drug causing Martin's sudden downturn, and spend the whole night trying to convince Martin he had something to live for and keeping Martin from killing himself by any desperate means necessary.

In the morning, the drug wears off, and Martin remembers everything. Aftermath and H/C as well please.

Martin and Douglas spend most of their time together. They wake up together in the same bed, go to the same airfield, fly the same plane, and then come back together to the same house. There are brief moments of separation, when one of them flies solo, Martin goes out for drinks with Martin Davenport or Douglas goes to visit his daughter, but over the years of their working together and then being in a relationship, they got used to the fact that the other is always close - and they wouldn't have it any other way.

However, during one of the single pilot flights, one of them gets stranded alone (or with Carolyn/Arthur) in a foreign country - Gertie breaks down, Eyjafjallajökull erupts again, air travel is temporarily forbidden due to some political reasons - and begins to realize just how much one can miss their husband/partner/boyfriend. Cue angsty phone calls, nervous twitching at every bit of relevant news, heartbreaking moments when the other side of the bed turns out to be empty etc... And then, desperate reunion sex?

Arthur/Martin fail!sex where they both end up giggling and having ridiculous amounts of fun. Losing the condom in the sheets, too much lube making everything too slippery and firing the vibrator halfway across the room, bursting a pillow. Whatever, as long as they both have fun :)


Bonus points if it's a total revelation to Martin that sex can be so ridiculous and silly and yet still so BRILLIANT!

Carolyn knocks up Herc.

Does Herc (try to) subject Carolyn to endless hours of opera with the argument that it'll make their baby smarter? Does Carolyn torrent Herc with stuffed sheep? Do they argue over Herc's protein intake? Does Douglas share anecdotes about how he was the best bearer ever with his own daughter? Does Martin regale everyone with best pregnancy practices?

Bonus: the cabin omega, Arthur is pregnant as well (Martin? Airheaded heir(ess)? George?). He and Herc are pregnant besties. Carolyn is terrifyingly territorial of both.

Alt. Bonus: Martin knocks up Douglas (who's luck was in play there up to anon). Pregnant SkyGod one up-mom-ship and comparing/contrasting/commiserating Carolyn and Martin.

Possibly based on recent bedroom antics of my own.

Martin blurts out apologies when he orgasms. Go down the silly route (with me, it was because it had taken me completely by surprise, and was a bit sooner than I'd hoped for, & my partner started laughing because i was stuck in an apology loop which then made me laugh and so on) or the angstier route if that's what you'd prefer.

Although I'm hoping for sillier. And yes, bonus points for getting him stuck in an apology loop too. 'Sorry!' 'You're apologising for coming?' 'Yes. Sorry.' 'Please stop apologising.' 'Right. Sorry. God. Sorry. I mean... Sorry for saying sorry. Er.'

Up to author if it will be a death fic or not.

*Russian Roulette is where you have a chambered gun and one bullet. After each time the trigger is pulled, the chamber is spun around, so there is no knowing when the only bullet will be fired.

Growing up, Martin's father was verbally abusive. He ridiculed Martin for everything from his ginger curly hair, his build, glasses when he was a teen, his lack of friends (girl or otherwise), etc.

Now, 10 years later, he still only sees the faults in himself and can't understand how Douglas can possibly find him attractive. So he freaks out a bit when Douglas voices his interest/makes a pass at him, thinking it is just some cruel joke.

Cue days/weeks later when Douglas finally convinces Martin he is serious about his attraction and Douglas points out everything that is right with Martin (preferably while undressing him on a bed)...

...Sorry, long prompt is long!
