Please see the most recent MOD NOTE

(updated 6 June)

Welcome everybody. How you got here I have no idea but thank you for coming and welcome again, nonetheless . As you may have gathered this is a Fic Prompting Meme dedicated solely to the hilarious and oh-so-addictive BBC Radio 4 sitcom - Cabin Pressure. I'm aiming for this to be pretty anything goes - but in order for everything to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines. Don't worry - they're not too restrictive.

FILLING GUIDELINES

As you probably all know - our meme now has it's very own database created and maintained by the great Enigel. It both catalogues each and every prompt that we post and provides links to fills. You can find it here: Google Spreadsheet

We also have a Pinboard archive which has been put in place by the lovely [personal profile] oxfordtweed in the place of our late Delicious Archive. This Archive contains a list of all the prompts this meme has to offer - you can find it here: Pinboard Archive

This is a great step forward in making our meme just a little more organised (but not too organised of course. This is Cabin Pressure) which is always a good thing.

So in order to make things easier to archive - Please nest your fills.

This can be done by either posting each part as a reply to that part's immediate predecessor, OR by replying each time to Part I OR - well you get the idea :D

It makes it simpler for Enigel and myself to link fills in a clean and clear manner. Following these guildelines will be very much appreciated guys :D

REPROMPTING

Reprompting is allowed but please include the URL of the original prompt when you do so. It will make it infinitely more easy to Archive which would make both Enigel and I very happy :)

As for everything else

  1. Be respectful to one another. Disagreements are fine, but not everything disagreeable is trolling. If you suspect someone of trolling, just ignore it. If you cannot respond to a comment without attacking or trolling someone else, keep it to yourself.

  2. No bashing prompts. It might not be your cup of tea - but obviously someone wants it enough to go to the effort of requesting it. So just scroll past it.

  3. Prompt away as much as you like guys - seriously, go wild - but please try to fill as well.

  4. NEW - If your fill includes a major element that veers from the original prompt (crossovers, established universes, kinks, et cetera), please take a few moments to check with the OP that such additions are welcome. This has caused problems in the past and it only takes a few moments of your time.
  5. Please no RPF. I'm not trying to oppress you RPF writers and enthusiasts, I would just really like to avoid any legal problems.

  6. When you post a fill (or post a new part of a WIP) please go over to the Filled Prompts Post (if it is complete) or the WIP Post (if there are still more parts to come) and, following each post's guideline's, post a link to this fill or new part.

REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM

According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. So if you're here and you're under 18 please back button now.

+ Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.

Other than that - go crazy guys. Any problems please just message me and I'll try my best to work it out.

Path of A Man 2/?

Let me just thank you for prompting this! I am having so much fun writing this. Things will pick up next part, but I hope you like!

2.

Martin moved silently into the middle of the attic room, the click of the door lock following him.

Unfortunately, it seemed Martin’s own home hadn’t faired any better than that of the stranger’s. The man could barely recognize anything in the mess, everything was in pieces, even the floorboards were shredded. The worst of the destruction was around the window at the end, the frame and wall looking like the abused scratching post of a bear.

What the hell happened?

Something crinkled under Martin's shoe, and the young man looked down to see the red stained bandages that he had worn.

Reaching for the stitched wound on his shoulder, Martin was only met with smooth skin. Groping about, he found nothing and quickly removed his jacket, heading for the bathroom - which was thankfully left untouched.

Turning his back to the mirror, Martin looked over his shoulder fully expecting to see the nasty bite lower than he remembered. Instead, what greeted him was a series of small, thin white lines where weeping scabs should have been.

“Oh god,” Martin whispered and suddenly turned out of the bathroom, slamming the door, “Oh god.”

What was going on?

Martin yelped when there was a knocking.

"Please not now," taking a few deep breaths, the pilot did his best to compose himself and strode swiftly to the door, slowly pulling it open a crack to find the curious face of one of the students on the other side.

“Y-yes?”

“Mr. Crieff? Your taxi is here, the driver was getting impatient, Anne managed to stall them, but you might want to hurry.”

“Oh, oh yes, of-of course, thank you. Let him know I’ll, I’ll be right down.”

“Will do,” Martin breathed when the student turned, but straightened when they looked back, “Are you alright?”

“Fine, fine, fine, yourself?”

“Are you sure? Things didn’t sound so good last night.”

“How- how do you mean?”

“You were practically howling for a bit, and then things got quiet… you hiding a girl in there, captain?”

“My taxi?”

“Right, sorry – have a good one!”

“Th-thank you,” Martin breathed shakily as he shut the door and fell against it.

Howling? Of all things…

What was he going to do? He needed to see a doctor - that was sure fire, but what about the murder?

God, what if they came for him at the airfield? What would Carolyn do when they led away her pilot in handcuffs? What would Arthur think of his skipper, what would Douglas think?

He’d never fly again.

Martin ran a hand down his face, figuring until something surfaced he should play it normal. After all, he didn’t even know if he was guilty or not. He supposed only the police could determine that, and if or when they did...

Martin didn’t know if he’d fight it.

Acting normal proved extremely more difficult than usual, and Martin feared he’d be found out on the first day. It didn’t help that he was as skittish as a rabbit, and it seemed like he was being asked every ten minutes if he was well. While Martin did his best to divert their concerns, he seemed to only succeed in deepening them.

Things only got worse when they were in Tours for the night. Martin couldn’t sleep, his nerves making him hypersensitive, and therefore neither could Douglas. At one point the older man had gotten tired of watching Martin jitter in his chair and had asked what was wrong. Martin had snapped, not knowing where the anger came from, but apologized a moment later. Douglas didn’t say anything for the rest of the night and did his best to retire.

One of us has to be fit to fly tomorrow.

Come morning, Martin was too tired to worry, and with a heavy heart and pounding headache the flight home was flown in an awkward silence, Douglas handling most of it as the captain fought to stay conscious. As soon as they touched down, Martin was off of Gerti, leaving behind a confused and worried co-pilot.

Not waiting to split a fare, the man got into the first cab that stopped and ordered home. Martin wasn’t sure how exactly he got to his room, but he awoke in the remains of a familiar bed, having slept better than he knew possible and wondering briefly if it had all been a dream – the scratches around the window proving otherwise.

When Martin went to the clinic that afternoon, he tried to explain the oddity of his wound to someone and only received skeptical looks in return. Even after procuring his antibiotics, the staff skirted about Martin like he was an addict, finally giving the pilot some sort of booster and telling him to go home and not worry.

It was all the young man could do to listen to them.

As the week progressed and the murder hit the news (Camilla Brendan was her name), but no policemen stormed the Parkside terrace homme, Martin slowly fell back into routine and hoped to put the horrible incident behind him.

Then three weeks later, it happened again.
