Welcome everybody. How you got here I have no idea but thank you for coming and welcome again, nonetheless . As you may have gathered this is a Fic Prompting Meme dedicated solely to the hilarious and oh-so-addictive BBC Radio 4 sitcom - Cabin Pressure. I'm aiming for this to be pretty anything goes - but in order for everything to run smoothly, there are a few guidelines. Don't worry - they're not too restrictive.

FILLING GUIDELINES

As you probably all know - our meme now has it's very own database created and maintained by the great Enigel. It both catalogues each and every prompt that we post and provides links to fills. You can find it here: Google Spreadsheet

We also have a Pinboard archive which has been put in place by the lovely

oxfordtweed in the place of our late Delicious Archive. This Archive contains a list of all the prompts this meme has to offer - you can find it here: Pinboard Archive

This is a great step forward in making our meme just a little more organised (but not too organised of course. This is Cabin Pressure) which is always a good thing.

So in order to make things easier to archive - Please nest your fills.

This can be done by either posting each part as a reply to that part's immediate predecessor, OR by replying each time to Part I OR - well you get the idea :D

It makes it simpler for Enigel and myself to link fills in a clean and clear manner. Following these guildelines will be very much appreciated guys :D

REPROMPTING

Reprompting is allowed but please include the URL of the original prompt when you do so. It will make it infinitely more easy to Archive which would make both Enigel and I very happy :)

As for everything else

Be respectful to one another. Disagreements are fine, but not everything disagreeable is trolling. If you suspect someone of trolling, just ignore it. If you cannot respond to a comment without attacking or trolling someone else, keep it to yourself.

No bashing prompts. It might not be your cup of tea - but obviously someone wants it enough to go to the effort of requesting it. So just scroll past it.

Prompt away as much as you like guys - seriously, go wild - but please try to fill as well.

NEW - If your fill includes a major element that veers from the original prompt (crossovers, established universes, kinks, et cetera), please take a few moments to check with the OP that such additions are welcome. This has caused problems in the past and it only takes a few moments of your time.
Please no RPF. I'm not trying to oppress you RPF writers and enthusiasts, I would just really like to avoid any legal problems.

When you post a fill (or post a new part of a WIP) please go over to the Filled Prompts Post (if it is complete) or the WIP Post (if there are still more parts to come) and, following each post's guideline's, post a link to this fill or new part.

REALLY IMPORTANT ADDENDUM

According to numerous Child Safety laws it is illegal to provide pornographic material to minors. Seeing that the majority of the stuff we have here is rather adult in nature, this Meme is consequently an 18+ zone. Failing to comply to this rule could result in the Meme getting shut down. + Please do not post anything regarding minors in a sexual situation. It really doesn't matter how tasteful or crass it is, there are laws that classify that sort of thing as child pornography and as such, I'm afraid we're going to have to go with the attitude that safe is better than sorry.

It really is VERY important that these rules are upheld as the consequences are severe.

Vegetarians Do It Better

The reason Herc is vegetarian is as selfless as the man himself: he wants to test the truth of the "vegetarians keep it up longer" myth.

Up to you whether the myth is busted or validated, whether the male constituents of MJN Air start imitating him without admitting that they're doing such a thing, and who gets the last laugh.

Carolyn/Herc not mandatory but strongly encouraged, Douglas/Martin optional but also encouraged, Arthur/OFC(s) welcome.

Little bit addicted to this forbidden love thing. It makes me ache like no other.

Douglas is a wealthy bachelor with three failed marriages. Carolyn is his sassy friend who pretends to be his "wife" when needed to ward off suspicion from other eyes. Although she and Herc are quite openly in love.

Douglas is very much infatuated with a Mr Martin Crieff, one of his servants perhaps? But they're not allowed to be together and Douglas angst over his feelings. He treats Martin like crap at first, confused before realising he's very much in love with the man. Cue sneaking around for the two of them and fevered kisses hidden in corridors.

I don't mind when you want to set it, although I'm thinking Victorian era? Just take it and do to it what you will my pretties! <3

	I'm already doing something like this for a Martin/Diego prompt (I'm calling it Lord Crieff's Lover- sort of a slashy DH Lawrence nod), but I'm seconding the hell out of this for a Douglas/Martin pairing. On the grounds that I've just read the above prompt thinking it was a response to the prompt above that one (I.e. "Cue sneaking around for the two of them and fevered kisses hidden in corridors." "And all the wondrous things they do to various foods and household objects.")

I want object insertion - think cucumbers, carrots, yokes, toys,lollipops, pencils, whisks, wooden spoons, sushi- ANYTHING. Preferably D/M with Martin as the happy recipient (but I wouldn't say no to another pairing or the other way around).

A long while back there was either a prompt or a fill which described Martin as "a sad faced Victorian orphan", or words to that effect. For no reason at all this popped into my head today, and out of it comes this prompt...

Circa 1897. Sir Hercules Shipwright is engaged to Lady Carolyn Knapp-Shappey, a wealthy widow whose son has been wrongly accused of a serious crime. Naturally no expenses will be spared to prove his innocence, so who else do they go to but Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson?

Holmes and Watson then call on the help of the trusty Baker Street Irregulars, among them the little Martin and his older, more street-wise brother Douglas...

TL;DR: MJN in the Victorian era appealing to Holmes & Watson to solve a crime.

This fandom really needs more Douglas h/c (all the Martin focus can get a bit boring).

Martin gets whumped all the time when, if you think about it, Douglas is actually equally whump-able (more so, in fact, for being less openly vulnerable... means there's even more distance to fall).

So, yeah, make him suffer (illness- something more than a cold / flu? Injury?) and then have the rest of MJN put him back together.

Ok, we've got a lot of Martin being taken care of at Douglas's house with lots of H/C snuggly-ness. How about a reversal? Douglas is tired/hurt/drunken (BONUS: extra angst if he fell off the wagon for some personal reason *cough* Helena *cough*) and Martin takes him home to his flat and looks after him.

Douglas is such a peacock, it would be nice to see him all vulnerable and snuggled up to his captain.

Plane crashes

Martin has a stressfull day. When he goes to sleep that night, the stress is so bad, he relives the stupid events of his day all over again. But this time, in his dream, he pushes down on his control, ignoring the pleas and cries of everyone around him and crashes GERTE.

Martin wakes up, sweating and gasping and scared half to death. When he flies the next day, he's so disturbed by what he did in the dream, he doesn't want to fly.

The feeling persists for days.

Douglas is a were!something, and being Douglas is Alpha were. Until one day, something bad happens and he winds up in some kind of trouble (trapped? wounded? taken in by some old lady with 29 cats?). How does he get out of it when he can't twist words to his advantage, has no money for bribes, and can't seduce anyone?

For an extra challenge, break a fic cliche'.

Arthur/Martin or Diego/Martin

They've tried a few different things and neither have had to use the safeword yet. However, Martin isn't great with pain. One time things get a bit heated and for whatever reason (author can choose) it ends up hurting just a little. He waits to see if it eases off because Arthur-or-Diego seems to be enjoying it and he doesn't want to disappoint.

It doesn't and he has to use the safeword. I'd like to see Arthur-or-Diego comforting him and then bringing himself and Martin off some other way. I really don't mind how, but hands and/or frottage are always a winner for me.

Also, safe sex kink time - if anything crops up where someone could be wearing a condom, can the writer please mention it?

(Overly specific addendum: the word "willy" makes me laugh too much to fully appreciate the smut. Yes, I know, very immature problem to have!)

While doing research for a fill I'm working on, I came across the meaning of Martin's name - while it also means having a settlement by a body of water, it's major meaning is from Latin: Martinus meaning 'dedicated to Mars' (the Roman God of War). And Martin is arguably the least likely to hold his own in a fight out of the lot of them, making it slightly ironic.

Anything with this please. =]

Both pilots of the plane become incapacitated during the flight (due to food poisoning, some illness, etc) and when the cabin crew starts to panic, MARTIN SAVES THE DAY. Rare Pair time!

Carolyn Knapp-Shappey is a wealthy divorcee. She has her son of course but her stinking ex-husband got his precious plane in the divorce so in retribution she wrung him dry for absolutely everything else possible.
Bored and disenchanted with having nothing much to do, is it any wonder she has a bit of a wandering and appreciative eye for the lovely young men who do the gardening and clean the pool and... deliver her latest art purchase in his rather beaten-up old van?

Take it where you like! I'm not averse to seeing Martin as a kept man, a flustered and awkward man, or simply a man who ends up finding an investor for his van business. Go where the muses take you...

An AU in which Douglas stayed in med school, and Martin decided to be an electrician when he inherited the van.

Douglas is working at a clinic when a man named Martin comes in to get patched up. Martin gives some sort of excuse, but it's obviously abuse.
Martin starts coming in a bit more often, but when Douglas suggests Martin leaving his partner, Martin doesn't show for a while. When he comes back, he has signs that he tried to patch up himself. Douglas doesn't try to push the idea, and Martin starts returning semi-frequently.

Douglas has to slowly gain his trust and friendship in order to convince Martin to leave.

AU Ficlet Challenge

Your challenge is to write up to 1000 words of Cabin Pressure AU.
f you feel inspired to write more than a ficlet, then by all means, go ahead! The idea, though, is to mainly see world-building and universe establishment in not a lot of words. If you can do it in less than 500 words, that's impressive :)

Some ideas to start you off:

MBN- My Boat Now
MLN/MTN- My Locomotive Now/My Train Now
Hospital
Military
Coffee Shop

Go wild! I'd just love to see some short fic about these characters in a different setting- how are they the same in these universes, and how are they different?

I am intrigued... but wondering if this is a prompt purely for the serious and sad humiliation aspects, or if there's room to shoehorn in a paper-thin excuse for "sexy security inspector with the magic fingers" porny funtimes.
I'm making no promises either way, just curious as to the limits should the muses decide to take an interest.

I've probably prompted this before but THERE'S NOT ENOUGH BOTTOM!DOUGLAS IN THE WORLD!

Douglas wants Martin to fuck him. But he hasn't even had so much as a tickle back there so Martin doesn't think it's wise to go from 0 to 60 like that. Thus he puts Douglas at his mercy with his fingers and an assortment of butt plugs until they can work their way up to the real thing. ;D

Apart from McLean's wife's plane, we don't see what goes on on the other flights who're holding at the outer marker. Even that plane is about to drop out of the sky due to a lack of fuel by the time all the planes can land!

I'd like to see the MJN crew and a plane full of passengers. It'd be especially great if Martin panics and steps out of the flight deck to have a bit of a flail in the galley and someone (preferably Arthur?) manages to give him a pep talk and he manages the difficult landing.

Gen is fine, or Arthur/Martin - no other pairings
